The Kwara State Police Command has announced a massive deployment of personnel and operational assets across the state ahead of the 2026 Eid-el-Kabir celebration to ensure residents’ safety and prevent security breaches during the festive period.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Command’s spokesperson, Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, the command said extensive security measures had been put in place to guarantee peaceful celebrations across all parts of the state.
The statement noted that the police commissioner extended warm greetings to Muslim faithful in Kwara and beyond on the occasion of the 1447 AH Eid-ul-Adha celebration, which commemorates the 10th day of Dhuʻl-Hijjah.
“As Muslim faithful observe this significant religious festival marked by Sacrifice, Obedience, and Devotion, the Command urges residents to celebrate peacefully, responsibly, and in accordance with the law,” the statement said.
