adsThe Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 4,000 personnel across Abuja and its environs as part of security arrangements for the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.
The deployment, ordered by Olusola Odumosu, FCT Commandant, is aimed at ensuring the protection of lives, property, and Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI) before, during, and after the Sallah festivities.
According to a statement issued on Monday in Abuja by Monica Ojobi, Command’s Public Relations Officer, the deployment cuts across various specialised units of the Corps, including the Arms Squad, Female Strike Force, Crack Squad, and Agro Rangers, all of which will operate in coordinated formations across the territory.
The statement noted that the security build-up is designed to forestall any attempt by criminal elements to exploit the festive period, particularly through acts of sabotage or violent disruption.
The Command disclosed that undercover operatives from the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosives (CBRNE) Unit have been strategically deployed to sweep designated areas for improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and other potential threats.adsads
