During the operation, officers reportedly recovered N251,000, believed to be part of the ransom allegedly collected from the victims’ family before the children were released.

The Ondo State Police Command has said that its operatives arrested five suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate allegedly operating in Ore and surrounding communities, following the abduction of two young brothers on their way to school.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer of the command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the arrests were made through its Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad after a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

According to Jimoh, the case was reported on May 12 by one Andrew Yohana of Jerry Sawmill Area, Ore, who informed authorities that his two sons, identified as Jehu, aged 10, and Yohana, aged 5, had been kidnapped by unknown persons while heading to school.

The police spokesperson noted that detectives immediately launched investigations after visiting the scene of the incident.
