LUCENA CITY, QUEZON, Philippines — A total of 7,512 kilograms of waste were collected along the shorelines of nine coastal localities in Cavite province during activities marking this year’s Month of the Ocean observance.
The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)-Region IV-A said in a report Wednesday, May 27, that the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (Penro)-Cavite conducted a coastal cleanup drive on May 21 in the municipalities of Kawit, Maragondon, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza, and Ternate, as well as in the cities of Bacoor and Cavite.
The cleanup involved 97 river rangers from the Manila Bay Site Coordinating and Management Office-Cavite (MBSCMO-Cavite) under Penro-Cavite, along with barangay officials and community volunteers who helped ensure the proper collection, disposal, and management of the wastes.
