The Take-It-Back Movement has criticised the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu over worsening insecurity in the country, accusing the government of failing to protect children from kidnappings and violent attacks.
In a statement released on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Children’s Day, the Jigawa State Coordinator of the Take-It-Back Movement, Sani Aminu Taura, lamented that countless Nigerian children remain in captivity while government officials continue to engage in what the group described as “political ceremonies and empty speeches.”
The statement, titled “Children’s Day and Our Children in Captivity,” described the situation as “a national disgrace,” stressing that there is “very little to celebrate in a country where innocent children are being kidnapped, terrorized, and forced into captivity while those in power continue with political ceremonies and empty speeches.”
