Two women were killed in Libode shooting as police launch manhunt.
Police in the Eastern Cape have launched an urgent investigation following the fatal shooting of two women aged 44 and 65 in Gebane locality, Zinkumbini A/A, on Monday afternoon.
Acting OR Tambo District Commissioner, Brigadier Vukile Ntuli, condemned the attack, describing the incident as a brutal act of violence that has shocked the local community.
According to police spokesperson Captain Welile Matyolo, the shooting occurred at about 4pm when the 44-year-old victim was walking home from work as a security guard at a local school.
“The 44-year-old woman was on her way home from her workplace, where she works as a security guard in a local school, when she met two unknown men,” Matyolo said.
