Police in the Western Cape have launched a manhunt for unknown suspects after a mass shooting claimed the lives of four people in Nyanga on Tuesday morning.
The provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Andrè Traut, said the shooting incident is believed to be taxi-related.
This, after six people were shot and four were declared dead at the scene.
“Preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 8.30 am, unknown suspects opened fire on a group of individuals at the corner of Moonwood Drive and Sheffield Road. Four adult males, whose ages are yet to be determined, sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were declared deceased on the scene. Two other men were injured during the attack and were admitted to the hospital in a critical condition,” Traut said.
