Describing his victory as “a defining moment in the political history of Kaduna State,” Bawa ABG said he would work to unite party members and restore hope to residents.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has elected Hon. Usman Bawa ABG as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections, with the flag bearer vowing to take tougher action against banditry and kidnapping if elected.
Bawa ABG, known as Alhaji Bawa Garba, emerged winner of Sunday’s primary election after polling 124,170 votes. He defeated his closest rival, Hon. Haruna Kajuru AG, who secured 22,010 votes, according to the Returning Officer, Prof. Ibrahim Lawal.
Describing his victory as “a defining moment in the political history of Kaduna State,” Bawa ABG said he would work to unite party members and restore hope to residents.
“This victory is not for Hon. Usman Bawa ABG alone. It is a victory for every struggling family seeking hope, every unemployed youth seeking opportunity, every farmer praying for security, every trader longing for economic stability, and every citizen dreaming of a peaceful and prosperous Kaduna State,” he said in his acceptance speech.
