adsBabagana Buhari, quite unfamiliar in the Borno political terrain, has clinched the state’s gubernatorial ticket for the 2027 elections under the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He polled 71, 867 votes in the party’s governorship primary election, defeating Attom Mohammed Mahira, who got 2033 votes, and Sanusi Kashim Ibrahim, who polled 1033 votes.

Mai Adamu Mustapha, the returning officer of the exercise, announced at the end of the collation of the results from the state’s 27 LGAs, on Monday night.

He said the three contestants collected their respective votes from the 74,933 valid votes cast by 85,567 accredited voters, drawn from the 102,900 registered voters.adsads
