The Peoples Democratic Party continued its governorship and senatorial primaries across several states, producing candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In Nasarawa State, the PDP confirmed Dr David Ombugadu as the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Our correspondent recalls that Ombugadu was the party’s governorship candidate in the 2019 and 2023 elections in the state.
Ombugadu’s endorsement was announced on Sunday in Lafia, the state capital, by a member of the PDP National Working Committee in charge of primary elections, Abdulmalik Danga, during a stakeholders’ meeting attended by party officials and delegates drawn from the three senatorial zones of the state.
The affirmation for Ombugadu was observed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, with the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state reportedly monitoring the process.
