Oti denied having any connection with those behind the destruction of the billboards and called on security agencies to thoroughly investigate the matter and bring those responsible to justice.

An aspirant of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Igbo-Etiti/Uzo-Uwani Federal Constituency, Chidiebere Benjamin Oti, has distanced himself from individuals involved in the burning and destruction of campaign billboards of President Bola Tinubu and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah in parts of Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Oti, in a statement issued on Sunday, condemned the incident, describing it as irresponsible, provocative, and capable of triggering unnecessary political tension in the area.

In a video making the rounds on social media, some angry youths of the Nrobo community in Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area were seen burning and destroying President Tinubu and Governor Mbah's campaign billboard while venting their anger and frustration against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

In the video, one of the irate youths who set the campaign billboard ablaze and tore it into pieces said, “Look at these people. They have been promising to fix the Uzo-Uwani roads. For as long as I can remember, they have been claiming to be working on Uzo-Uwani roads.
