MANILA, Philippines – The low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) dissipated on Sunday morning, the state weather bureau said.
The extension of another LPA outside the PAR, however, will trigger scattered rains and thunderstorms to Mindanao, Palawan, Eastern Samar and Southern Leyte, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“We are monitoring another low-pressure area. Its trough or extension is affecting Mindanao and causing rain in some parts of our country,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica C. Torres said in Filipino early Sunday morning.
