MANILA, Philippines — A tropical depression and a low-pressure area (LPA) are being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau reported on Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that as of 4 p.m, the tropical depression outside the PAR was monitored some 3,055 kilometers east of extreme Northern Luzon.

It packs a maximum sustained wind speed of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 55 kph while moving east at 50 kph.
