MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation has received “many leads” on the whereabouts of Sen. Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who secretly left the Senate in the early morning of May 14 to thwart an attempt to arrest him based on a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC).

“We have gotten so many leads. We have a lead showing us where he really is,” NBI Director Melvin Matibag told reporters at the Manila City Hall Reporters’ Association’s Balitaan on Tuesday.

But Matibag refused to provide more details, saying the NBI is still conducting an investigation, adding: “It’s hard to announce where he is because people try to speculate.”
