MANILA – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Tuesday it is looking to resume voter registration activities for the May 2028 national and local elections by early next year.
Comelec chief George Erwin Garcia made the remark a day after the seven-month voter registration for the Nov. 2, 2026 Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) ended on Monday.
“Actually, we have already discussed February. More or less, that’s when we will have our registration. And hopefully, for those who were not able to register or those who have turned 15 (for SK voters),” he said in an interview.
