MANILA, Philippines — Any delay in the Senate’s impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte would be a disservice to the Filipino people, Kabataan party-list Rep. Renee Co on Monday said as she urged the chamber to immediately proceed.
Co, who also serves as House assistant minority leader, said in a statement that the impeachment court should convene at once following the transmission of the articles of impeachment by the House of Representatives.
Co said: “The impeachment must proceed at once. It is a disservice to the Filipino people if the impeachment hearing is delayed any longer.”
