MANILA, Philippines — Kabataan party-list Rep. Renee Co on Monday urged the Senate to immediately proceed with the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, saying any delay would be a disservice to the Filipino people.
In a statement, Co, who also serves as House assistant minority leader, said the impeachment court should convene at once following the transmission of the articles of impeachment by the House of Representatives.
“The impeachment must proceed at once. It is a disservice to the Filipino people if the impeachment hearing is delayed any longer,” Co said.
