Since the start of the day, 46 combat engagements have occurred between the Ukrainian Defense Forces and Russian troops. The most intense fighting has been reported in the Kostiantynivka, Pokrovsk, and Huliaipole sectors.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook in an operational update as of 16:00 on Sunday, May 17, according to Ukrinform.
"Artillery shelling of border areas continues. Today in the Sumy region, the settlements of Tovstodubove, Rohizne, Sopich, Korenok, Marchykhyna Buda, Sukhodil, Ulanove, Yastrubshchyna, Bezsalivka, Bachivsk, Volfyne, and Kozache were affected; in the Chernihiv region — Yeline, Yasna Poliana, Mykhalchyna-Sloboda, and Khrinivka. The settlements of Vilna Sloboda and Ulanove in the Sumy region were subjected to airstrikes," the statement said.

In the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors, two combat engagements took place. The enemy carried out two airstrikes, used three guided bombs, and launched 35 attacks on populated areas and Ukrainian military positions.
