The Kumaran Nagar police has booked cases against the cadre of the DMK and the TVK following an assault on a lawyer near a polling station in Saidapet on Thursday.
Police sources said the incident occurred near Polling Station No. 46 in the Saidapet constituency, where Senthamilselvan, a lawyer associated with the TVK, was assaulted in an altercation between cadres of the two parties.
Based on a complaint, police registered a case against 10 identified DMK members under sections related to assault, use of obscene language and criminal intimidation.
In a counter-complaint filed by DMK members, police also registered a case against TVK legal wing members, including Senthamilselvan and others under sections related to assault and use of obscene language.
