Two minor weather systems are expected to influence wet weather conditions over different parts of the State this week and keep the soaring day temperature in check till March 22.
The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast that day temperatures may begin to gradually fall by two degrees Celsius over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal areas.
Some places may experience a drop in maximum temperature up to one or two degrees Celsius below normal from Wednesday onwards.
Officials of the RMC said an upper air cyclonic circulation persists over north coastal Tamil Nadu. Another trough from southwest Bay of Bengal off north Sri Lanka coast to Comorin area across Gulf of Mannar would trigger a spell of mild to moderate rainfall this week.
