More than 50 residents of Peravur North Colony on Monday submitted a petition demanding basic facilities in their locality submitted a petition with the District Collector Simranjeet Singh Kahlon during the weekly grievance redress meeting here.
The area falling under the Peravur panchayat, the petitioners alleged, lack of basic facilities like roads, drinking water, street lights, and others.
Regarding this, the people of Peravur North Colony said: “There are more than 250 families in our settlement. There is no road facility here. During rainy season, we walk through the water.”
Drinking water and streetlight facilities have not been available for many years, they added.
As the houses did not receive Cauvery combined drinking water, to fetch drinking water, they walk a distance of more than one km to the Peravur Main Road to fetch water, the residents pointed out.
