However the residents of the area are struggling with absence of road facility for the past five years, along with lack of other basic amenities such as irregular supply of drinking water for the past six months, poor maintenance of street lights, and irregular garbage collection in the area. The petition stated that the existing road has been filled with gravel, making it difficult even for pedestrians to walk. They urged the Corporation authorities to take immediate action to address their grievances.Another petition submitted by ward 2 councilor M. Muthulakshmi highlighted the stagnation of wastewater in UGDS in areas such as Thangammal Koil street, Pazhani street, Grand Pudhutheru, Distillery street and Muthuramalinga Thevar street, urging the corporation to address the issue. At the meeting members of ‘We the Leaders’ movement submitted a petition stating that Jawahar Ground in Palayamkottai has been a designated venue for the annual Dasara festival and public meetings.
