Some 80 Italian authors have appealed to organisers to ban the allegedly 'neo-Fascist' publishing house Passaggio al Bosco from the Più libri più liberi independent publishing fair in Rome.
The letter, signed by Anna Foa, Alessandro Barbero, Antonio Scurati, Zerocalcare, Christian Raimo, and Caparezza, among others, says the contested publisher's catalogue includes texts based on "the glorification of experiences and founding figures of the Nazi-Fascist and anti-Semitic pantheon, such as Leon Degrelle and Corneliu Zelea Codreanu." The Italian Publishers Association (AIE) rejected the appeal saying that "Passaggio al Bosco has adhered to the values ;;of the Constitution and readers will make their own minds up."
