The Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has made special arrangements to regulate traffic in the commercial hub of T. Nagar in view of Deepavali.
As people from various parts of Tamil Nadu are expected to visit T. Nagar for Deepavali shopping, two Assistant Commissioners of Police, six Inspectors, 40 Sub-Inspectors, and 120 Traffic Police Constables are being deployed in Traffic South District under the headship of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, South.
In addition to this, 100 Armed police personnel are also being deployed to assist traffic police to ensure that the free flow of traffic is not disrupted.
In view of the festival, the GCTP has made additional parking arrangements such as Automatic Multilevel car parking on Thanikachalam Salai, at Thiyagaraya road junction (Free of cost); below J. Anbazhagan bridge; Corporation school on Prakasam Salai; Ramakrishna school on Dhandapani street and Somasundaram Ground.
