A court in Belagavi district has sentenced a 56-year-old man to life imprisonment for killing his wife.
The Fifth Additional District and Sessions Court held Annappa Appa Saba Khichadi of Mugalakhoda village guilty for killing his 50-year-old wife Kallavva alias Kalavathi and sentenced him to life imprisonment.
The prosecution said that he suspected that his wife was talking to other men and having immoral relationships with them and killed her.
Judge H.S. Manjunath, who heard the case, sentenced the accused to rigorous life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on him. The judgement was delivered on Thursday.
For about two years, the offender was beating the victim and mentally and physically harassing her for the same reason.
