Aman arrested on Tuesday for murdering his wife and 15-year-old son and critically injuring his 16-year-old daughter at Paupisi, a town in the southern province of Benevento, has confessed, prosecutors said on Wednesday.
The man, Salvatore Ocone, was arrested having taken flight to Campobasso, in Molise.
Benevento Prosecutor Gianfranco Scarfò said investigators were trying to work out the motive for the massacre.
The wife, the latest victim in an alarming series of femicides in Italy, was named as Elisa Polcino, 49.
Italy has a problem with gender-based violence.
