New Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa told workers Wednesday that the carmaker's historic plant at Mirafiori in Turin had a future, denying closure plans.

"I know it is not easy for you and your families to live in this period of great change and challenge for our industry, here in Italy and throughout the world," he said.

"But despite the difficult period we are going through, investments in Turin and in Italy in recent years have been concrete, they are long-term, they project us into the future.

"In Turin, specifically in Mirafiori, I was born from a professional point of view and my career started here.

I am one of you" said Filosa.
