A retired Village Administrative Officer was killed in a road accident on the bypass road in Uthamapalayam in Theni district on Wednesday. According to the police, the retired VAO R. Kumar who was walking along the stretch was knocked down by a speeding vehicle. He was immediately rushed to Uthamapalayam government hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries.
