While the NFL has introduced helmet changes and modified rules, experts emphasise that safety gear cannot eliminate CTE risk, recommending reduced physical contact during training and youth play. The NFL responded by stating it ‘continuously strives’ to make the sport safer by implementing strategies to reduce concussions and providing health support for former players.
