Australia's data center power demand is projected to surge from 5 TWh to 34 TWh by 2035-36, requiring up to $135 billion in new infrastructure

The massive 800 MW data centre will need city-scale electrical infrastructure, and will install enough diesel generator capacity, and fuel, to last four days if needed.

The energy market operator has assessed the grid as national power use is set to increase 40 per cent over a decade.
