China initiated a cybersecurity review of Palo Alto Networks products. The regulator cited critical information infrastructure and national security risks. This action follows increased scrutiny of foreign technology suppliers by Beijing. It also occurs amid ongoing trade and technology tensions with Washington. Palo Alto Networks has not yet responded to the review announcement.

The country’s cyberspace administration said the review would ‘ensure the secure and stable operation of critical information infrastructure’.

The move comes just a day after Beijing imposed sanctions on a string of US firms and tightened controls over the drone supply chain.
