Civil society and pro-democracy groups in Ogun State have accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of undermining democracy and “acting as a tool against opposition” by freezing the Osun State Government's bank account just days before the state's governorship election, demanding the immediate reversal of the action.

According to the EFCC, the action forms part of its ongoing investigation activities.
