The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on NBC on September 14, with Mariska Hargitay hosting, marking her as the first woman to host the event in 15 years. The eligibility period for nominated shows spanned from June 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, with acclaimed series such as Beef, Pluribus, and The Pitt anticipated to be among the contenders. The complete list of nominees will be unveiled Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. ET during a livestream hosted by Liza Colón-Zayas and Jeff Hiller. Nominations for two categories, Outstanding Variety Series and Outstanding Reality Competition Program, were revealed early on NBC’s Today show.
