The Emmy Award nominations have been announced and two late-night show hosts who found themselves as enemies of President Donald Trump are now getting record nominations.
Kimmel, Colbert Score Big It hasn’t been that long since President Trump was celebrating the announcement that Paramount Skydance Corp (NASDAQ:PSKY) was ending "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert." The president may not be celebrating the fact that the final season of the late-night talk show with Stephen Colbert received nine nominations for the Emmy Awards, a record for the show, which aired its final episodes in May 2026.
The previous record for the CBS show was five nominees for a single Emmy Award, as reported by Variety.
Among the categories the show is nominated for is Outstanding Variety Series.
Going up against "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" in that category is "Jimmy Kimmel Live!", the late-night show that airs on ABC from Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS).
