De Europese Commissie is tot de voorlopige conclusie gekomen dat de grootste cloudproviders van de wereld, Amazon met AWS en Microsoft met Azure, kunnen worden aangewezen als ‘poortwachters’. Dat is een categorie binnen de Digitalemarktenwet (DMA) waarvoor speciale mededingingsregels gelden. Dat doet de EC vanwege zorgen over gebrek aan concurrentie op de cloudmarkt, maakte zij donderdag bekend.
