TEHRAN -- The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States to end the war will not be signed on Sunday due to "the other side's hesitation," Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported Saturday, citing Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei.

The aim was to finalize the wording by Saturday so the agreement could be signed by Vice President JD Vance and Iran's Parliament Speaker Mohammed Baqer Qalibaf.

The language in the memorandum was still being finalised, with Iran sticking to its position that the deal must also end fighting in Lebanon, the source said.
