South Africa’s has president promised to act on what he called concerns over undocumented migration following a rise in anti-immigrant sentiment in Africa’s most advanced economy.

Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni has warned that no one will be allowed to shut down the country as tensions over illegal immigration grow.

The president reiterated that the enforcement of immigration laws remains the sole responsibility of the government and not private groups or vigilante organisations.
