Doctors battling the deadly Bundibugyo strain in DR Congo will likely have to wait months for a vaccine.

The WHO says the outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo virus, does not meet the criteria for a pandemic emergency, but countries sharing borders with the DRC are at high risk

The outbreak is only the third caused by the rare Bundibugyo virus, for which there are no approved vaccines or therapeutics.
