Sir Keir Starmer has pledged to be “completely ruthless” in his pursuit of Downing Street as new polling to mark his third anniversary as Labour leader found almost half of Britons believed he had not set out a clear vision.
In an interview with The Times Starmer claimed that he had changed the Labour Party by ignoring those urging him to “go further, go faster”. He said he was “very clearly gunning for the finishing line” of the race to become prime minister.
However, polling by YouGov suggests that Starmer still has much left to do to convince the public that he has a plan for government.
