Relatives of a loadman who died at the Government Headquarters Hospital in Erode on Wednesday (September 9, 2026) staged a road blockade on the Erode-Coimbatore main road on Thursday (September 10, 2026), alleging that the police had delayed the post-mortem examination.Easwaran, a resident of Soolai, was seriously injured in a road accident at Palayapalayam about 15 days ago. After undergoing treatment, he had returned home. He was brought to the hospital on Wednesday after he developed health complications and died, his relatives said. The relatives alleged that the police had delayed the post-mortem examination, leading to tension at the hospital.They further alleged that the delay was due to a dispute between the Erode South and Erode North police over which station should register the case in connection with the accident. Aggrieved over the delay, the relatives staged a road blockade in front of the hospital disrupting traffic for some time.
