Dutch semiconductor equipment giant ASML has broken ground on a major new production plant near Eindhoven Airport in the Netherlands, as it ramps up manufacturing to meet rising demand amid the AI data centre boom.
The BIC North plant is to use 35 hectares of land roughly 7 kilometres from ASML’s headquarters and principal manufacturing site at Veldhoven.
Chief executive Christophe Fouquet said growing demand necessitated “continuous investments”.
