Fariza Sabit, a third year PhD student at the ICE Lab, was awarded the EPFL's Doc.Mobility grant for a research stay at Pennington Biomedical Research Center (PBRC).Fariza Sabit has started a three-month research stay at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center (PBRC) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana (USA), supported by a Doc.Mobility grant. She is hosted by Professor Eric Ravussin, a world-renowned expert in human energy metabolism and Director of the Nutrition Obesity Research Center.During her stay, Fariza will analyze an extensive set of whole-room indirect calorimetry (WRIC) data collected at PBRC. Access to this data will allow her to test and refine her personalized, dynamic models of human energy expenditure at a scale rarely available to a single laboratory.Beyond the data itself, the stay offers a valuable exchange with the PBRC team, whose expertise in calorimetry and metabolic phenotyping is unique, and strengthens the link between our laboratory and one of the leading centers in metabolism research.FundingDoc.Mobility grant
