The District Election Officer and Collector S. Kandasamy on Tuesday (September 8, 2026) conducted a quarterly inspection of the electronic voting machine (EVM) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) storage facility on the premises of the Erode Revenue Divisional Officer’s office in the presence of representatives of recognised political parties.The EVMs and VVPAT machines used for election purposes are stored securely and maintained under proper monitoring in accordance with the rules and guidelines of the Election Commission. As part of the quarterly inspection, the Collector visited the storage facility and reviewed the arrangements. During the inspection, he checked the EVMs and VVPAT machines stored at the facility and verified the stock details. He also inspected whether the machines were being stored securely and whether the registers relating to their inventory were being properly maintained. He inspected the the CCTV monitoring system and the room housing the surveillance equipment.Erode Revenue Divisional Officer Muthusamy, Tahsildar (Election) Shanmugasundaram, representatives of recognised political parties and officials were present during the inspection.
