Security guard killed as sewage truck crashes into Sholinganallur apartment wall

A 56-year-old security guard was killed after a sewage truck crashed into the compound wall of an apartment complex in Sholinganallur in the early hours of Saturday (September 5, 2026).Kirupal, who was employed as a security guard at the complex, was inside the security cabin when the truck rammed into the wall.According to the police, the sewage truck was proceeding along the road when its driver swerved to the right to avoid hitting another truck travelling on the left. The vehicle then crashed into the apartment complex’s compound wall.The impact brought down the wall and the security cabin, trapping Kirupal underneath. He died on the spot.
