Two North West men have been sentenced for murdering and robbing a 26-year-old man in Boitekong in March 2024, after stabbing him in the chest and selling his stolen cellphone, with one receiving life imprisonment and the other 15 years for murder.
Tumelo Rakgasa and Thabang Cwaile were sentenced on September 2, 2026, after being convicted of murder and robbery.
North West police spokesperson Warrant Officer Ofentse Mokgadi said the incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 9, 2024, when the 26-year-old man was on his way home from a tavern in Meriting.
He was robbed of his cellphone and stabbed in the chest.
