The Ntuzuma Regional Court sentenced a man to two life sentences and two fifteen-year sentences for a murder, robbery and attempted murder committed in Inanda in January 2025.
A Durban man has been sentenced to life imprisonment after pleading guilty to murder, attempted murder and two counts of robbery with aggravating circumstances committed in January 2025.
In the Ntuzuma Regional Court, Mzomuhle Kweyama pleaded guilty to the charges. The court sentenced him on Friday to life for both murder and attempted murder, and to 15 years' imprisonment each for two counts of robbery. The court ordered the sentences to run concurrently.
According to Kweyama's statement before court, he was running out of money and, together with a friend, decided to rob a house in Inanda. He told the court he saw four boys on the verandah and an Audi Q2 in the driveway when he approached the house.
Kweyama did not cover his face to shield his identity, but his friend did so with a surgical mask. At gunpoint, they ordered the boys into the house. They found three women seated in the lounge. At gunpoint, they ordered them onto the floor and demanded money.
