Proteas wicket-keeper Connor Esterhuizen celebrates taking a catch during the T20I tri-series final on Sunday.
Proteas T20I captain Bjorn Fortuin believes his team can now look back at Windhoek with fond memories after clinching the T20I Tri-Series title on Sunday.
The Proteas suffered a shock defeat to Namibia in the stadium’s inauguration match last year, and then followed it up with a successive defeat to the hosts in Windhoek in the tournament opener last month.
It certainly left the Proteas with egg on their faces with Fortuin admitting the team had shared a few honest conversations with each other after the second loss to Namibia.
But after the team finally overcame Namibia in their last group game before beating Zimbabwe in the final, Fortuin is now sporting a much bigger smile.
