Various organisations have begun preparations for the Vriksathon Heritage Run-2026 scheduled in Vijayapura in December.The marathon for environment protection will be held on December 13. The organising committee is inviting marathoners from various parts of the world to participate.As a run-up to the marathon, a promo run for women has been organised on September 6. The promo run will start from Gagan Mahal in Vijayapura at 6 am. Entry is free. The race will reach Gol Gumbaz and will end at Gagan Mahal. Women can participate in traditional dress and fancy dress, organisers say.Renuka Prasad , marathoner and ultra runner, will conduct training sessions for beginners in Vijayapura every Saturday and Sunday. The sessions will be held from the first week end of September to the first week of December.
