Amstel Malta has supported women in Abia State with business grants and beauty gift packs as part of activities marking this year’s August Meeting held at the New Government House, Umuahia, on Friday, August 28.
According to a statement, the August Meeting is an annual tradition observed across the South East, during which women return to their hometowns to reconnect with their communities, deliberate on communal issues and celebrate their shared heritage.
Amstel Malta used the occasion to celebrate women in Abia State, awarding business grants to five women to support the growth of their enterprises and encourage their entrepreneurial ambitions.
The Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti, and the First Lady of Abia State, Mrs Priscilla Otti, attended the event alongside the Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state, Dr Maureen Aghukwa, who also presented business grants to female entrepreneurs at the gathering.
