The Academic Staff Union of Universities, Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa Branch, has disagreed with the Jigawa State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Isa Chamo, over the implementation of the 2025 ASUU-FGN agreement, insisting that the agreement was not received two weeks ago.
This was contained in a statement signed by ASUU-SLUK Chairman, Comrade Idris Chiromawa, and made available to journalists on Thursday in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
PUNCH Online gathered that the disagreement came just a day after the Jigawa State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Yusuf Chamo, while reacting to the two-week strike ultimatum issued by the union during his interaction with journalists in his office, claimed that the state government only received the memo from the National Universities Commission this September.
Reacting to the claim in the latest statement, the union chairman said the matter had been before the government for months.
